Camera Control and Capture Software for Multi-Camera Capture and Photogrammetry

Xangle software manages camera settings, triggering, file transfer, and frame previews through a web interface. It's currently the fastest option on the market for photogrammetry. With compatible hardware, a setup can download 200 raw files in a few seconds and display preview frames in under three seconds. The system uses remote clients running on distributed Raspberry Pi computers.

Camera settings, triggering, and file transfer run over USB, so a separate triggering system is not required. From the web interface, you can adjust settings, trigger cameras, download files, and review frames.

Software highlights for photogrammetry

Camera control Adjust aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance for connected cameras from a computer, smartphone, or tablet browser on the same local network.

Troubleshooting Receive notifications in real time when a camera or node disconnects, or when some files are missing.

Camera support We support Canon DSLR cameras, most Canon mirrorless cameras, most Sony mirrorless cameras, iPhone, GoPro, PiCam, Android, and webcams.

Flash accuracy compensation For multi-camera flash setups, Xangle sends a delayed signal to a designated camera to compensate for flash timing. This can avoid additional custom electronics and shutter-speed calculations. The system supports flash capture at 1/60 s. See documentation for more details

Actor / FACS folders / files naming Create actor and FACS lists in advance, then select the relevant entries before each shot. Xangle uses those selections to name folders and files.

Backup system Auto-back up files with rules on various external folders/drives

Multiple sets of flashes and cameras Set a software-based custom trigger sequence for different groups of cameras and flashes, including a specified interval in milliseconds between groups.

Review and operation monitors (web-based!) Open one or more monitors on devices connected to the local network. View individual frames, browse the library, use live view, and control cameras.

Fast frame preview & shot cancel Get a preview of any frames (from any angle) within a few seconds and decide if you want to cancel the whole shot (stop downloading the files)

LED control Use LED strips for lighting between shots or for a visual countdown. The strips can turn off automatically when the cameras trigger.

OLAT (One light at a time) Trigger strobes at specific times relative to the camera exposure to capture variations in shadow and highlight on your subject. Requires the Xangle Board.

ROM (Range of Motion) Use a camera’s burst mode to trigger up to 12 datasets of a subject for a range-of-motion capture.
