Photorealistic 3D Capture Using LED Light Mapping
Most body and head scans use neutral lighting so they can be relit in 3D software. For scenes with a defined color and lighting direction, RGB Scene Projection captures the subject under projected light from the start.
Instead of strobes, we use continuous LED lighting and project a JPG or MP4 across the scan stage. The projected image adds color and lighting to the capture, which is suitable for productions where the 3D scene is already established.
How it Works:
- Upload a JPG or MP4 directly into our scanning software.
- The image or video is displayed on the 4080-pixel LED lighting system.
- Capture the subject under the projected light.
- Review the scan with the projected colors and lighting represented in the captured result.
This approach is intended for productions with an established visual environment. It can reduce the difference between the scan lighting and the target scene; additional compositing or lighting work may still be needed, depending on the project.
